Wristboi's debut lp, lacerations, is an amalgamation of his percussion driven club aesthetic and his Mexican heritage. Growing up he was exposed to, among many other styles, a plethora of Latino music, ranging from flamenco, tango, salsa, Cumbia, Banda mariachi ranchera huapango, norteño and reggaeton. As a classically trained violinist, he developed an excellent ear early on, that carried over into his productions.

Lacerations has been heavily influenced by all of these sounds. This influence as well as a darker emotional tone, also derivative of his earlier musical influences, like emo, and club driven rhythms that are both powerful at times, and stripped down and extremely simplistic and melodramatic at others. Wristboi explores his heritage and emotional content through his LP, and creates an atmosphere both suited for smaller more intimate club settings, and private listening through headphones on a long subway ride.
